Mostly Wordless Wednesday – June 3, 2015 – Prince of Wales Bridge

The Prince of Wales Bridge is an old railroad bridge spanning the Ottawa River between Ontario and Québec, built in 1880 and now abandoned and covered in graffiti. A couple of friends dragged me out there last week. I agreed to go a few days earlier, but nearly backed out at the last moment. Truth is, I just don’t find much inspiration there.

Before anybody chastises me about playing on the tracks, the last train to cross this bridge was in 2001, and the tracks have been disconnected on the Ontario side for a decade. The tracks are overgrown and the ties are rotten, so no train will be crossing this bridge anytime soon.
